In order to streamline the application procedure and reduce processing time, individuals may now engage a CPA (who is a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants) to assist with CIES Scheme applications at their own cost.
CPAs operating on behalf of applicants may submit a report to the Hong Kong Immigration Department together with the individual’s Scheme application, demonstrating that all application criteria are met.
While this is an optional, voluntary arrangement and will not affect the outcome of the application itself, it may substantially reduce waiting times involved in the processing of the application.
